Working Student / Intern in Finance & Operations (Controlling & Accounting)

We are now looking for an ambitious motivated full-time intern / working student in finance, controlling and business operations, with 3-6 months contract (legal work permit must be presented) to help our company’s business workflows. You will contribute to create smoother processes, ensure proper standards of our efforts and drive the pace of business. You will become a key part to developing our business GO2 Markets. This roles merges back office, finance controlling and accounting tasks.

General controlling and accounting tasks

  • Bookkeeping such as accounts payable and accounts receivable in ERP tool
  • Tracking booking & payment of incoming invoices on the balance sheet
  • Manage communication with suppliers concerning open invoices
  • Report of international transfers (AWV-Meldung)
  • Helping to prepare the monthly financial statements
  • Help with preparatory work for the annual audit
  • Prepare and manage invoices (Drafting and Posting in ERP)
  • Support preparation of outgoing invoices
  • Sort accounting receipts and assist in expense reporting
  • Update reporting and analysis tools
  • Support the finance team in administrative and ad hoc projects
  • Assistance in the preparation of liquidity planning and corporate planning
  • Support process of personnel & travel expenses
  • Support IFRS consolidation process
  • Coordination with the finance team of the other entities (Germany & US)
  • Improve documentation of group finance processes

Other tasks in daily operations

  • Complete administrative tasks, filling out, drafting documents and data entry
  • Support company initiatives, projects in cross functional team environments
  • Taking care of office groceries and Amazon orders
  • Support in day-to-day communication of relevant business stakeholders
  • Booking transport and accommodation
  • Assisting the organisation's HR and finance functions by keeping personnel records up to date, arranging interviews and updating financial documents
  • Managing office space and facilities
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as regular checking mailbox, filing and photocopying letters
  • Support in preparing documentation and maintain records

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems

Requirements and skills: What you’ll bring to the team

  • You are currently studying Business, BWL (Betriebswirtschaftslehre) or Business Administration ideally with a focus on finance and accounting, controlling and auditing/taxes, or other relevant subjects and you are interested in the renewable energy and consulting industry
  • Preferably you finished your bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance, or are at the beginning of your master’s degree
  • Very good analytical skills, record-keeping and total ease using MS Excel
  • You have a very good knowledge of German and English (C1/C2 level, written and spoken)
  • Reliable team player with the desire to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Strong Excel skills)
  • Excellent organisational skills (Well organized and detail-oriented)
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Familiar with IFRS, German HGB
  • Basic knowledge in data querying (SQL or NonSQL-Databases) is a plus
  • Ability to adapt & be reactive in a fast-moving work environment
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment together with several teams
  • Passion to learn and express own ideas
  • Previous experience in a finance role preferred (not mandatory)
